Every week I share articles, essays, and posts from around the internet of interest to those who care about the intrinsic value of human life from conception to natural death amid a culture of death. This weekly post will inform the reader on a variety of bioethics issues, including abortion, assisted suicide & euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, genetic engineering, biotechnology, and more.

Senator Joe Manchin Was the Only Democrat to Vote Against Bill Legalizing Abortions Up to Birth

First, some good news. Thanks to Joe Manchin, a bill that would overturn every pro-life law in the United States and legalize abortions up to birth failed in the Senate.

Thank you, Senator Manchin, for standing up against the culture of death.

Democrat leaders and many mainstream news outlets portray the bill as an effort to simply “codify the right to an abortion” in the U.S. in response to the likelihood that the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade later this year. But pro-life advocates, who nicknamed it the Abortion Without Limits Up to Birth Act, said it would go beyond Roe and get rid of laws that protect unborn babies from late-term and partial-birth abortions.

In contrast, the not so good news. Many who voted for the legislation profess to be Christians.

Here’s the 13 Catholic Senators Who Voted to Legalize Abortions Up to Birth

Roman Catholic teaching condemns abortion. Yet, 13 senators who call themselves Catholic voted to support the most radical abortion bill ever proposed in Congress.

Although they call themselves Christian, they have taken a knee to the culture of death.

The following Catholic senators voted in favor of the bill: Maria Cantwell, D-Wash.; Bob Casey, D-Penn; Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev.; Dick Durbin, D-Ill.; Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.; Tim Kaine, D-Va.; Mark Kelly, D-Ariz.; Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.; Ed Markey, D-Mass.; Bob Menendez, D-N.J.; Patty Murray, D-Wash.; Alex Padilla, D-Calif., and Jack Reed, D-R.I.

While Ben Ray Luján, D-N.M., was absent, he co-sponsored the bill.

Then, there are those who claim to be Christians, yet support and even praise, abortion on demand, surrendering to the culture of death, led by Commander-in-Chief abortion advocate, Joe Biden!

Even though the Christian church has been pro-life from the beginning and the Bible is pro-life from Genesis to Revelation, many professing Christianity ignore these truths and

While some attempt to twist certain biblical passages to support abortion, careful exegesis proves them false.

Many denominations support abortion on demand, including the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Episcopal Church U.S.A., and other mainline churches. These, however, are the same churches that condone same-sex marriage and homosexual pastors. Apostate may well characterize them.

Clearly, the Christian faith and unrestricted abortion are incompatible. Yet, many who call themselves Christians have succumbed to the secular, progressive culture by supporting the murder of unborn children and even calling it “holy.”

The next three recommended articles are glaring examples of professing Christians on the wrong side of the abortion question.

Catholics Must Hold Joe Biden and Every Catholic Politician Who Supports Abortion Accountable

Moments ago, a reporter from EWTN asked Joe Biden:

“As a Catholic, how do you support abortion, defying Church teaching?”

Biden was flustered. He said: “I tell you what, I don’t want to get into a debate with you about theology.”

This… on Ash Wednesday… with ashes on his forehead!

The question is an excellent one. And not just for Joe Biden, but for every Catholic member of Congress and the U.S. Senate—including those who just voted for the most extreme abortion law ever introduced.

Pastor Prays Blessing on Abortion Clinic, Calls Killing Babies “Holy”

Only in a society steeped in the culture of death is this possible.

Earlier this month, The Washington Post intensified the effort to baptize abortion. In a thinly veiled advocacy piece entitled, “The Threat to Roe v. Wade Is Driving a Religious Movement for Reproductive Choice,” Michelle Boorstein profiled a young pastor of a mainline church in Maryland who calls abortion “holy.” The Reverend Kaeley McEvoy says she has “never felt more known and heard and loved by God than when [she] entered the doors of a Planned Parenthood.” Two of those times, she entered for her own abortion.

Pastor: I’m Observing a Sabbath to Celebrate Killing 63 Million Babies in Abortions

In an op-ed at the Bangor Daily News, the Rev. Marvin M. Ellison promoted the pro-abortion event, sponsored by the Maine Council of Churches, to coincide with the 49th anniversary of Roe on Jan. 22. Ellison, a professor emeritus of Christian ethics at Bangor Theological Seminary in Maine, said he believes abortion is a “morally responsible” decision that women should be allowed to make without restriction or shame. “This Sabbath is a godsend opportunity for us to ponder, prayerfully and respectfully, how to do better,” he wrote.

“Reproductive justice insists that people should have the moral freedom and legal right to decide whether and when to become parents,” Ellison continued. “Equally important, all families should have sufficient resources to raise their children in health, safety and dignity.”

Now, for some good news. The transgender lobby does not sway at least some of our political leaders.

Texas Gov. Declares Transgender Drugs and Surgeries Are Child Abuse, Orders Investigations

Governor Abbot is to be commended for taking affirmative action to stop this insidious form of child abuse.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott directed all state agencies to consider transgender drugs and surgeries for minors as illegal child abuse after an opinion from state Attorney General Ken Paxton declared that the practices violate Texas law.

Bioethicist Says Infanticide Is OK Because Killing Babies in Abortions Is OK

For some, abortion up to the moment of birth is not enough to satisfy their desire to satiate their commitment to the culture of death.

In our current episode of let’s-allow-baby-killing, an Australian bioethicist named Walter Veit comes to the defense of infanticide proponents who claimed there is no moral difference between late term fetuses and newborn babies. Veit (pictured) claims that the morality of how we treat children should be judged no differently than how we access animal welfare.

The All-Out Assault on Our Children

Indeed, this post is scary, but you need to read it. Our children are being assailed and our progressive culture is fostering it.

Satan is not just trying to silence the next generation. He is seeking to wipe it out, declaring an all-out war on our children. They are being slaughtered in the womb. They are being kidnapped and sold into sex slavery. They are being raped and abused and neglected and used. They are being brainwashed by their teachers and bullied by their peers. They are lost and lonely, depressed and suicidal. They cut themselves and kill themselves. Their innocence is being robbed and their security is being stolen.

Why Accepting Child Transgenderism Will Pave the Way for Pedophilia

Next, this article highlights yet another assault on our children.

Not long ago, it would’ve been unimaginable that a seven-year-old boy’s innocent preference for Polly Pockets over Power Rangers would find its tragic end in puberty blockers, chemical castration, and 15 minutes of fame on Snapchat’s explore page. (View Highlight)

Calling this abuse doesn’t encapsulate the full extent of the damage. It is a culturally bolstered, politically incentivized mass grooming campaign with a disturbing history. Even worse, this all may be eclipsed by a much darker future should it continue unabated. (View Highlight)

The push for childhood transgenderism is predicated on a perverse and extreme individualistic sentiment, specifically that children’s rights as individuals imply an autonomous ability to make irreversible decisions regarding their health, rather than require protection from parents and a culture that fend off all that endangers the most vulnerable.

Concluding Thoughts

The Roe v. Wade decision of 1973 ushered in the culture of death.

Abortion became legal, and we have murdered 63 million babies in the womb, and some immediately after leaving that protected space.

Assisted suicide is now legal in 10 states and The District of Columbia, and other nations are euthanizing those considered “not worthy of life.” The U.S. is not far behind.

What can you do to fight the culture of death?

  • Financially support pro-life organizations.
  • Support and vote for pro-life politicians.
  • Keep informed about attacks on the unborn, the elderly, and the incapacitated.
  • Learn how to state and defend your pro-life views. And let people know where you stand.
  • Share this post with others who need to know about the very real culture of death.
  • Pray for those fighting against the culture of death.

Finally, read, meditate upon, and act according to this from God’s Word:

11 Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. 12 If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done? (Proverbs 24:11–12 ESV)

May God bless and strengthen you to stand firm to support life from conception to natural death.
