Abortion After Roe

The Abortion Fight is Heating Up

The abortion fight is heating up, and that is the focus of this week’s culture of death news. The looming Dobb’s decision and the nefarious leak of Justice Alito’s draft opinion are stirring things up.The Abortion Fight is Heating Up

Plenty of digital ink continues spilling out about the unprecedented Supreme Court leak. So, we will only touch on that tangentially. But there is plenty to read on how the abortion fight is heating up.

The Culture of Death is an apt characterization of our world and as Christians, we are called to resist and speak out against every attempt to undermine the sanctity of life.

That is why every week I share articles, essays, and posts from around the internet of interest to those who care about the value of human life from conception to natural death.

Should Christians Be Pro-Choice

The God of the Bible is pro-life. We are all made in the image of God and murdering an innocent human being. And science tells us that at conception, the unborn child is a human being.

6 “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. (Genesis 9:6 ESV)

Nonetheless, many claim to be Christian, yet support abortion. And they are speaking out as the abortion fight is heating up. The next few articles call out some of these pro-abortion “Christians,” including President Joe Biden.

Tony Dungy Slams Raphael Warnock for Calling Himself a “Pro-Choice Pastor,” says the Bible Is Pro-Life

Pastor / Senator Raphael Warnock is unabashedly pro-abortion. As the abortion fight is heating up, he shows he denies the teaching of Scripture. But he calls himself a Christian pastor. I call this an oxymoron.

Warnock, a pro-abortion Democrat, represents Georgia in the U.S. Senate and serves as the senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. He repeatedly uses his Christian faith to try to justify his support for the killing of unborn babies in abortions.

On Monday, he did so again in response to news about a leaked draft opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court that would overturn Roe v. Wade.

“As a pro-choice pastor, I’ve always believed that a patient’s room is way too small for a woman, her doctor, and the United States government. I’ll always fight to protect a woman’s right to choose. And that will never change,” Warnock said. (Emphasis added.)

“I’m not talking to the Supreme Court, the general public, or anyone who doesn’t believe the Bible,” he wrote on Twitter. “If you don’t believe the Bible, I get it. I’m talking to the ‘Christian pastor’ who professes to follow the Bible but thinks we’re free to ‘choose’ when to end another person’s life.”

Super Bowl winning coach Tony Dungy took Warnock to task.

Former NFL coach Tony Dungy gave U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock a biblical lesson about abortion Tuesday after the Georgia Democrat described himself as a “pro-choice” pastor.

Dungy, a pro-life Christian and former Super Bowl winner with the Indianapolis Colts, pointed the politician to a Bible verse that recognizes the value of human life in the womb, according to The Daily Wire.

“It all comes down to what you believe about the organism growing inside the mother. Is it a life or not? If it is just growing tissue then your ‘choice’ makes sense. If it’s a life then it’s obviously not OK to choose to end it. What does your Bible tell you it is? Psalm 139:16,” Dungy wrote on Twitter Tuesday in response to a statement by Warnock defending abortion.

Psalm 139:16 states, “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

Faith Leaders React to Leaked Supreme Court Draft Opinion on Roe v. Wade

As the abortion fight is heating up, those on both sides of the argument speak out. In this article, several faith leaders, including pro-abortion Christians, sound off.

For example, the president of Catholics for Choice had this to say:

“Any weakening or overturning of Roe v. Wade is a direct result of the overreach of the Catholic Church, led by a small group of old, mostly white, allegedly celibate men who will never, ever become pregnant – yet have spent almost 50 years and millions of dollars trying to control women’s bodies, capture the federal judiciary, and take choice out of the rightful hands of patients and their caregivers. … To the Catholic bishops of the United States, we say: how dare you!”

Here’s another:

The Rev. Traci D. Blackmon, who heads the United Church of Christ’s Justice and Local Church Ministries, shared a brief statement on the denomination’s website:

“In this moment when abortion rights are under assault, please know this: the United Church of Christ faithfully supported access to safe abortion before Roe v. Wade and we will faithfully support it now. This is not a draft for us. This is discipleship.”

Prominent Pro-Choice Pastor Says Unborn Babies Are Not Human

Of course, a celebrity pastor also needs to weigh in as the abortion fight is heating up.

A progressive pastor who is popular on TikTok said babies in the womb are “not a human at all” until 20 weeks into the pregnancy.

Robertson, an openly gay pro-choice author, argued that the pro-life position does not back the science.

“Potential life is not life,” he said. “We fundamentally disagree and I think we stand on the side of the science.”

Franklin Graham Blasts Joe Biden for Using God to Defend Abortion, Says Abortion Is “Murder”

Joe Biden, the “good” Catholic, is among the most hypocritical people claiming to be Christian but supporting killing the unborn.

The Rev. Franklin Graham is among the many who are criticizing Joe Biden for invoking God to defend abortion.

As LifeNews reported, Joe Biden said that the right to an abortion comes from being a “child of God” during press remarks Wednesday.

“This is about a lot more than abortion … this reminds me of the debate with Robert Bork … [who] believed the only reason you had any inherent rights was because the government gave them to you,” he said.

“I believe I have the rights that I have, not because the government gave them to me … but because I am just a child of God, I exist,” he continued. “I delegated by joining this union here to delegate some rights I have to the government for social good.”

But the great pastor Franklin Graham takes exception with those blasphemous remarks. “Biden said that the right to an abortion comes from being a ‘child of God.’ Mr. President, that is just not true,” Graham tweeted. “Being a child of God does not give you the right to take the lives of the innocent. Abortion is a sin— simply put, it‘s murder.”

Accidentally Admitting That Abortion Kills a “child”

Consider this statement: “The idea that we’re gonna make a judgment that is going to say that no one can make the judgment to choose to abort a child based on a decision by the Supreme Court I think goes way overboard.” President Joe Biden spoke those words on Tuesday.

Cue another crisis call for the POTUS communications team. Calling an unborn baby a “child” is strictly off-limits for pro-abortion advocates. To linguistically humanize a fetus makes it impossible to deny the reality of abortion: the purposeful termination of a child’s life. The being in question is no different than their own birthed and beloved son or daughter. Well, we can’t have that kind of candor.

Joe Biden Trashes Pro-Life Americans: They’re “The Most Extreme Group in American History”

As the abortion fight is heating up, our President tells us what he thinks of pro-life, anti-abortion Americans.

I am proud to be among those he despises for my anti-abortion position!

He said protecting babies from abortion was one of the worst things to possibly happen in America and claimed it would lead to taking away other rights — even though abortion itself denies the right to life.

“What are the next things that are going to be attacked? Because this MAGA crowd is clearly the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history,” he said.

But there is more. Joe, trying to be a “good” Catholic, becomes a poor theologian:

Biden also tried to make it look like Christianity doesn’t really condemn abortion.

“Roe says what all basic, mainstream religions have historically concluded, that the existence of a human life and being is a question: Is it at the moment of conception? Is it six months? Is it six weeks?…The idea…we’re going to make a judgment…goes way overboard.”

The Left Stokes the Fire

Abortion and the Evils of the Modern Left

Given their obsession with sex, among leftists, no issues are held in higher regard than abortion and anything related to the perverse LGBTQMYNAMEISLEGION agenda. Sexual perversion has become a sacrament among the modern left , and tens of millions of the most helpless and defenseless among us have literally been sacrificed in the name of “Do as Thou Wilt” in the sexual realm. Because they’ve been unable to get it done legislatively, much of the American left’s agenda accomplishments on these matters have happened via U.S. courts.

Thus, the American left’s vitriolic reaction upon the egregious leak of a supposed SCOTUS majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson — which would overturn Roe v. Wade — should surprise no one. The leak was almost certainly a political stunt intended to intimidate pro-life justices, politicians, and citizens alike. This is what those who have made a god of government do. The left should take note: what the government giveth, the government can take away.

The Left Will Stop at Nothing to Kill Babies

Read the entire article to understand why killing unborn babies is so important to the left.

It’s the left’s worst nightmare. They’re about to lose their grip on the bogus legal precedent from 1973 that undergirds the foundation of their platform and aims. It’s the decision that, to this day, enables them to carry out their values of convenience, population control, and pandering by dehumanizing unborn children before dismembering them and calling it “empowerment.”

That’s probably why they leaked the opinion.

Appeals Court Lets Texas Abortion Heartbeat Law Stand: Babies ‘Will Be Saved,’ Abbott Says

On Tuesday, a federal appeals court handed abortion clinics a major loss in their attempt to overturn Texas’ heartbeat abortion ban, ordering a lower court to dismiss a challenge that would have limited enforcement of the unique law.

The law, which went into effect on Sept. 1, prevents an abortion if a fetal heartbeat is detected. It gives sole enforcement authority to private citizens, who are allowed to sue abortion doctors who violate the law.

Fox News Poll: Majority of Americans Want Abortions Banned

Overall, 44% think abortion should be legal all (27%) or most of the time (17%), while a majority of 54% thinks it should be illegal all (11%) or most of the time (43%). The “legal” number is a record low and it’s also the first time the portion saying “illegal” has been above 50% on a Fox News poll.
