Redefined Marriage: Harbinger of Cultural Decline

In The Death of Marriage Proves Social Conservatives Were Right About Sex, Nathanael Blake at The Federalist examines the devolution of sexual mores in our nation since the Supreme Court redefined marriage by a 5-4 vote in 2015 (Obergefell v. Hodges).

It Was Never Only About Same-Sex Marriage

Blake shows that what social conservatives warned would happen because of the decision, and the LBGTQ lobby denied, is coming to pass.

In fact, referring to the cultural elite, Blake writes “The culture they promote and sustain is anti-marriage, anti-family, and especially anti-child.”

He writes:

The sexual revolution’s redefinition of family was never going to stop with same-sex marriage, but few on the left have had the courage to say no to the expansion of the alphabet agenda.

People who insisted same-sex marriage would have no effect on the rest of us now want to punish dissenters who don’t want to promote and celebrate same-sex weddings. People who declared this was about consenting adults are now all-in on the LGBT youth agenda, from child drag queens to transgender toddlers.

Reading Blake’s essay supports the contention that the Court’s redefined marriage was a harbinger of cultural decline.
