Culture of Death, This Week’s News

This week’s news from the Culture of Death.

Every week I share articles, essays, and posts from around the internet of interest to those who care about the value of human life from conception to natural death. This weekly post will inform the reader on a variety of bioethics issues, including abortion, assisted suicide & euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, genetic engineering, biotechnology, and more facets of the culture of death.

Maryland Bill Would Allow Killing Babies in Infanticide Up to 28 Days After Birth

Killing a newborn child after emerging from the womb is called infanticide. Infanticide is murder. Yet the radical pro-abortion crowd is pushing legislation to legalize infanticide. Much of the ancient world practiced infanticide. Until Christianity took root and the practiced ceased. Today, the force of Christianity no longer holds sway, and the newly born are again under attack. This is the zenith of the culture of death.

At first glance, this bill looks like it simply changes the word “woman” to “pregnant person,” and then prevents a “pregnant person” from being investigated or penalized for “terminating or attempting to terminate” her own pregnancy. But we are well aware that abortion advocates constantly package what they sell as benign, when it is truly lethal.

In this case, as we are prepared to point out in our testimony, the bill also proposes a revision of the fetal murder/manslaughter statute that would serve to handcuff the investigation of infant deaths unrelated to abortion. In other words – this bill will effectively legalize infanticide.

The exact language of the bill states: “This section may not be construed to authorize any form of investigation or penalty for a person . . . experiencing a . . . perinatal death related to a failure to act.” (Emphasis added). In other words, a baby born alive and well could be abandoned and left to starve or freeze to death, and nothing could be done to punish those who participated in that cruel death. The bill also includes a section that would allow “a person [to] bring a cause of action for damages if the person was subject to unlawful arrest or criminal investigation for a violation of this section as a result of . . . experiencing a . . . perinatal death.”

Iceland Kills Almost 100% of Babies with Down Syndrome in Abortions

Iceland is living an eugenicist’s dream. They proudly boast that no Down Syndrome babies are born in their country. But their boast is their shame. Murdering unborn children in the womb because they have the wrong genes is simply evil.

According to the European Down Syndrome Association, “Since prenatal screening tests were introduced in Iceland in the early 2000s, the vast majority of women – close to 100 percent – who received a positive test for Down syndrome terminated their pregnancy”

But other nations are not far behind Iceland.

In the UK, it remains legal to have an abortion up to birth if the baby is prenatally diagnosed with having Down’s syndrome.

The next articles highlight the abortion craziness of the Biden administration, influenced by the Culture of Death, including Joe (the “good Catholic”) himself.

Joe Biden Says It’s “Dangerous” to Save Babies From Abortion, Calls Killing Babies “Health Care”

Though Joe Biden claims to be a “good Catholic” he is doing all he can to support abortion. How this can be true? The Roman Catholic church is strong and unwavering stance against abortion. Biden’s comment boggles the mind.

Joe Biden bad-mouthed Florida lawmakers Friday for passing a bill that would protect thousands of unborn babies from abortions every year, claiming the legislation is “dangerous” and killing babies in the womb is “health care.”

Biden, a Democrat described as the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history, issued the statement on Twitter after the Florida legislature passed the 15-week abortion ban Thursday.

“Last night, the Republican-controlled Florida legislature passed a dangerous bill that will severely restrict women’s access to reproductive health care,” the president responded. “My Administration will not stand for the continued erosion of women’s constitutional rights.”

Ketanji Brown Jackson Represented Pro-Abortion Groups Trying to Shut Down Pro-Life Free Speech

Certainly, Joe Biden fulfilled his promise to appoint a black woman to the Supreme Court. Predictably, other than her color and sex, her only other qualification is that she is radically pro-abortion.

“In nominating Ketanji Brown Jackson, President Biden is selecting a judicial activist for the Supreme Court,” said Kelly Shackelford, president of First Liberty Institute. “Her record from the beginning of her career shows hostility to religious liberty, free speech, and other constitutional rights. The American people do not want a liberal extremist on the Supreme Court. If confirmed, Judge Jackson’s judicial activism will place the constitutional rights of all Americans in jeopardy.”

“Ketanji Brown Jackson is backed by many of America’s most radical pro-abortion groups,” Dannenfelser said. “She is on record opposing the free speech rights of pro-life advocates pleading to save lives outside abortion centers and supporting the false claim that abortion is ‘health care.’ We have no doubt she will work with the most pro-abortion administration in history to enshrine abortion on demand nationwide in the law.”

Anthony Fauci Is Funding 80% of All Research Using Body Parts from Aborted Babies

This is just disgusting! The man has a warped conscience, if he has one at all.

When it comes to the grisly use of aborted baby parts for dubious scientific research in America, a new report shows embattled NIH director Anthony Fauci is behind most of the funding.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), which Fauci directs, is behind $27 million in taxpayer funding for research involving tissue or body parts from babies killed in abortions, or approximately 80% of the funding for all such research in the United States.

And, the Democratic Led Congress is All Out for the Culture of Death.

Beware of False Prophets: Lessons From a “Pro-Choice Pastor” in the U.S. Senate

Can you be a Christian and pro-abortion if you believe what the Bible teaches? I say no. Can you be a “Christian” pastor and support abortion? No!

Yet, slimy Senator / pastor Raphael Warnock claims to be pro-abortion, Christian pastor.

Remember, Jesus warned us to beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Let me be clear. I don’t believe there is such a thing as a biblically faithful “pro-choice pastor.” Over 2,500 years ago, the prophet Isaiah addressed the people of Israel as they faced the prospect of exile because of their sin. Speaking to those who were committing intentional sin, Isaiah says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter” (Isa. 5:20). In Isaiah, “woe” connotes grief and consternation and is often directed at someone in grievous error. Calling something evil “good” is to invert the moral order and invite divine judgment.

If this is true, what does this mean for how we should think about Reverend Warnock’s ministry? To use biblical imagery, he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Consider Jesus’ warning in Matthew 7:15-16a, where He says, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits.” According to Jesus, false teachers will be recognized by their fruit. An obviously bad fruit is teaching that does not accord with sound doctrine. Moreover, using one’s title and position of leadership in the church to provide cover for wickedness is surely a sign of rotten fruit.

Canada Is Trying to Force Christian Medical Centers to Kill People in Assisted Suicides

Canadian euthanasia supporters are campaigning to force Canada’s denominational medical facilities to provide euthanasia.

Canadian Press reported that Dying With Dignity is campaigning to stop “forced transfers” a process that they define as transfers from medical facilities that forbid (MAiD) euthanasia. The euthanasia lobby wants to stop the transfer of people who have requested euthanasia by forcing denominational medical institutions to do euthanasia.

The British Columbia government is already forcing provincially funded medical institutions that are not affiliated with a denomination to provide (MAiD) euthanasia.

Exploring the Left-Right Divide on Abortion – The Human Life Review

Where do you stand on the political spectrum? Read this article to help you decide.

More specifically, the American Left is committed to supporting Roe v. Wade’s removal of legal protection from a group clearly and desperately in need of it: late-term sentient human foetuses about to be torn limb from limb. It’s hard openly to mount a protectionist argument for this barbaric stance; the best that can be done is to fold it into a concern for protecting women’s health, and keep it hidden there.

On the other hand, the Right can try to justify its protectionist turn with respect to the unborn, by arguing that even the strongest libertarians have always favoured protection of the innocent against intentional violence (think of John Locke’s vision of the state as merely a “nightwatchman”).

This makes some sense. How could you keep a game of Monopoly going if the players felt free to shove their opponents’ pieces onto the floor? The mainstream of the pro-life movement does not, however, fall into the actionist camp favouring “economic free-for-all, except for no intentional violence”. Instead, we stand squarely in the protectionist camp. We share with the Left a desire to protect, except that we refuse to make what appears to us to be a clearly inconsistent exception (putting women’s freedom of action ahead of protecting children’s lives).

May God bless and strengthen you to stand firm against the culture of death in support life from conception to natural death.
